Colorado Springs psychiatry
Trauma can leave a long echo: hypervigilance, nightmares, numbness, irritability, or a nervous system that does not believe the danger has passed. Some people meet criteria for PTSD. Others are living with trauma-related symptoms without a label they recognize. Luminary Mind Wellness provides trauma-informed psychiatric care in Colorado Springs for adults and adolescents.

Our PMHNP team includes clinicians who list trauma and PTSD among the conditions they treat. Care may include medication management, holistic support, and referrals to therapy. We offer a warm, judgment-free space—in person on North Academy Boulevard and by telehealth across Colorado.
Psychiatric care for trauma is not the same as trauma-focused psychotherapy. Both can matter. We are honest about what we provide and what we refer out.
Care at Luminary Mind
You do not need a perfect narrative of your past to ask for help. We see people healing from single-incident trauma, longer-term stress, grief that will not lift, and PTSD symptoms that have been with them for years.
Trauma-informed psychiatric care starts with choice and pacing. You set the tempo of what you share. Your nurse practitioner will ask enough to treat you safely—current symptoms, sleep, substances, other diagnoses, and medications—without forcing a full retelling.
Medication is sometimes used to ease nightmares, anxiety, depression, or sleep disruption so daily life is more livable. It does not erase what happened, and we will not pretend it does. Holistic psychiatry can add lifestyle and supplement support when those tools are appropriate and reviewed for interactions.
When therapy is the right next piece, we refer. Many people do best with both a prescriber and a therapist. Our role is expert psychiatric care and a place where you feel seen.
